What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic Walking is a form of exercise that uses specially designed poles. These are different to normal trekking poles, and they allow us to change our normal walking, into a full body workout.

Nordic Walking is fun and a very accessible, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

The poles allow us to use our upper body muscles whilst walking, and this is very important because it helps with good posture, by strengthening the upper back muscles. In today's society, we are constantly leaning our head forward, to look at mobile and computer screens - so, Nordic Walking can help counter act this.

It was developed in Finland in the 1930s, when cross country skiers wanted to keep fit during the summer months. It is one of the fastest growing forms of exercise, as many people realize the incredible health benefits this sport brings.
